M2V - Jandre: Estou trazendo de volta sexy!
Edgar: Trabalhar duro e fazendo o melhor. E você? :)
João: indo muito bem! Sentindo-me muito grato por todo o apoio que a nossa música está recebendo. O prazer é todo nosso. :)
Juanma: Gozando! (Isso é Porto-Riquenho por ter um grande momento!)
BML - Começando a entrevista, gostaria que me contassem o porque decidiram dar o nome “Message To Venus” à banda?
M2V - M2V (todos): Message To Venus, foi o primeiro título da primeira música que Jandre escreveu para o projeto, a música não deu certo, mas o título sim, e também um bom amigo de Jandre sugeriu-o para a banda também. Nossa música não é apenas agressiva, tem um monte de efeitos de guitarra e sons spacey em algumas partes. Não tem nada a ver com Vênus representar as mulheres, e sim que tem tudo a ver com a música, que nos permite explorar um terreno da música e até onde ela quer chegar.
BML - Nas músicas da banda, há uma presença forte de guitarras pesadas, e dedilhados bem calmos e ao mesmo tempo agitados. Em quais bandas vocês se influenciaram?

Edgar: Eu sou o tipo de cara mais os anos 80, meus favoritos são: The Police, Level 42, Tears for Fears, Dream Theater, e Sting para citar alguns.
John: Do meu lado definitivamente Tool e Deftones.
Juanma: Eu amo tantas bandas de diferentes gêneros. Eu posso honestamente dizer que eu me influenciei desde as mais pesadas bandas para a música mais tropical que temos no Caribe.
BML - As músicas são compostas em conjunto com ou há uma única pessoa que faz?
M2V - Jandre: No primeiro EP eu escrevi e produzi todas as músicas, então os caras vieram e me ajudaram a pós-produzir e dar revisões finais, sobre o novo material ficou tudo para trás, eles fizeram todas as músicas e eu só fiz meus arranjos vocais e pós-produzi algumas músicas. Agora, com o novo material, eu mal posso esperar para chegar em uma sala e criar um jam novo.
Edgar: Nós sempre fazemos tudo em um esforço de grupo não deixamos ninguém para trás ou processo criativo por trás.
João: Quando se trata de composições todos colaboram. Um pode vir com a idéia principal, mas há opinião de todos em seu estilo na música. É um processo incrível!
Juanma: Nós todos ajudamos a compor e damos nossas idéias.
BML - Qual foi o show que vocês mais gostaram? Por quê?
M2V - Jandre: Eu diria que o Tópico Quente em lojas é muito divertido e tão íntimo.
Edgar: Para mim qualquer show que as pessoas querem ter, um bom momento será sempre o melhor show.
John: The Coors Light Indie Fest 2012, em San Juan, Porto Rico. A multidão foi simplesmente fantástica!
Juanma: A Coors Light Indie Fest 2012 com certeza. Porto Rico, a multidão foi incrível, a noite foi grande, o sistema de som foi uma explosão e tivemos o melhor plano de fundo LCD EVER! Grandiosidade pura!
BML - No Brasil, as bandas encontram dificuldade em encontrar locais (rock bar, casas de show) para tocar ou divulgar a banda em si. Quando vocês começaram a fazer shows encontraram esta dificuldade?
M2V - Jandre: Porto Rico é uma ilha tropical, mas há uma cena de rock aqui. O problema é que a cena de rock só pode chegar longe e com profissionais, queremos fazer coisas mais exclusivas, que é tão difícil de ser pago para fazer isso, mas nós fazemos isso por amor a música, mesmo se ela custar-nos muito.Edgar: Desde que fomos enfrentar, somos de um local muito tropical, temos um monte de salsa, merengue, bachata, e as pessoas reggaeton adoro dançar e ter um bom tempo, mas há sempre um pouco de espaço para cena do rock / metal, para fazer algum barulho. :)
João: Eu acho que é uma confusão sem fim, não importa em que nível você está em sua carreira.
Juanma: Nós ainda temos que enfrentar isso! É realmente bom saber que até mesmo no Brasil isso está acontecendo.
BML - Para 2013, como está a agenda de vocês? O Brasil está incluso em algum show?
M2V - Jandre: Se você nos ligar nós podemos fazer um show para o Brasil! Se não, então nós definitivamente vamos dar alguns passeios da costa leste dos EUA.
Edgar: Não só o Brasil, eu diria o mundo. As pessoas estão respondendo a nós e nossa música, nós gostariamos de pagá-los com um grande show.
João: Nova música saindo, promovendo e turnê os EUA. Gostaria de tocar no Brasil, estamos absolutamente afim de ir para ele. Espero que a oportunidade venha em breve. Nós amamos nossos fãs brasileiros!
Juanma: Brasil, as respostas dos fãs tem sido ótimas! Temos tantos novos amigos aí que nós realmente queremos fazer isso acontecer. Tudo o que precisa é um bom show por aí que podemos fazer! Em 2013, devemos fazer alguns shows no exterior agradável, e espero que o Brasil esteja na lista!

John: Doing great! Feeling really grateful for all the support our music is receiving. The pleasure is all ours. :)

BML - Starting the interview, I would like to tell me why they decided to name "Message To Venus" to the band?
M2V - M2V (all): Message to Venus was the first title of the first song Jandre wrote for the project, the song didn't work out but the title did, and also a good friend of Jandre's suggested it fit the band well. Our music is not only aggressive but we have a lot of guitar effects and spacey sounds on some parts. It has nothing to do with Venus representing women; it has EVERYTHING to do with the music, allowing us to explore more music ground and how far we want to get.
BML - In the band music, there is a strong presence of heavy guitars, and fingerings well calm while agitated. Which bands are you influenced?
M2V - Jandre: Led Zeppelin, Soudgarden, 311, Deftones and fellow musicians from the past to present.
Edgar: I'm more of a 80's kind of guy my favs are The Police, Level 42, Tears for Fears, Dream Theater, and Sting to name a few.
John: From my side definitely Tool and Deftones.
JuanMa: I love so many bands from different genres. I can honestly say that I get influenced from the heaviest bands to the most tropical music that we get in the Caribbean.
BML - The songs are composed in along with or is there a single person who makes up?
M2V - Jandre: On the first EP I wrote and produced all the songs, then the guys came in and helped me post-produce and give final revisions, on the new stuff it was all backwards, they did all the music and I just did my vocal arrangements and post-produced some songs. Now, with the new stuff, I can't wait to get in a room and jam new stuff.
Edgar: We always do everything in a group effort we don't leave no man behind or creative process behind.
John: When it comes to songwriting we all collaborate. One might come with the main idea but everyone pitches in their style into the song. It's an amazing process!
JuanMa: We all pitch in to compose and give our ideas.
BML - What was the show that you liked best? Why?
M2V - Jandre: I'd have to say the Hot Topic in-stores were a lot of fun and so intimate.
Edgar: For me any show that people wants to have a good time its the best show ever.
John: The Coors Light Indie Fest 2012 in San Juan, PR. The crowd was just amazing!
JuanMa: The Coors Light Indie Fest 2012 for sure. Puerto Rico crowd was awesome, the night was great, the sound system was a blast and we had the best LCD backdrop EVER! Pure awesomeness!
M2V - Jandre: Puerto Rico is a tropical island but there is a rock scene here. The problem is that the rock scene can only get you so far and as professionals, we want to do things more exclusive, it's so hard to get paid to do this, but we do it for the love of music even if it's costing us a lot.
Edgar: From were we are it's a very tropical oriented venues, we have a lot of salsa, merengue, bachata, and reggaeton people love to dance and have a good time but there is always a little space for rock/metal scene to make some noise. :)
John: I think it is a never ending hustle, no matter at what level you are in your career.
JuanMa: We still have to face this! It's actually good to know that even in Brazil this is happening.
BML - For 2013, the schedule is like for you? Brazil is included in a show?
M2V - Jandre: If you hook us up we can make it to Brazil! If not then we will definitely be in some east coast USA tours.
Edgar: Not only Brazil I would say the world. People are responding to us and our music, we would like to pay it back with a great show.
John: New music out, promoting and tour the US. Would love to play in Brazil, we are absolutely for it. Hope that opportunity comes soon. We love our Brazilian fans!
JuanMa: Brazil fan response has been great! We have so many new friends over there that we really want to make it happen. All we need is a nice show over there that can have us! In 2013 we should be doing some nice overseas shows, and hopefully Brazil will be in the list!
